HARTING also produces electro-magnetic components for the automobile industry and provides solutions for the fields of Industrie 4.0 (Integrated Industry / Industrial Internet), e-mobility, housing technology and shop systems. 

HARTING has been a 100% family-owned business since it was founded by Wilhelm and Marie Harting in 1945. A management transition has taken place from the second to the third generation of the family, in accordance with our vision to remain an independent family business. Philip Harting, as a partner and board member of the Connectivity & Networks division, has taken over the executive chairman position from his father Dietmar, now a board member. Philip Harting now leads the Techology Group together with his mother Margrit, Senior Vice President, his sister Maresa Harting-Hertz, board member of the Finance and Purchasing department, and other non-family managers.

At the beginning there was the desire for easing people’s everyday life. A tiny workshop was the birth of the family Harting’s entrepreneurial spirit in the town of Minden. Innovative strength, commitment and entrepreneurial foresight cleared the way for the ongoing development of HARTING, which is nowadays a global player. Around 4,200 employees worldwide help to ensure that their pride of the achieved position is also an encouragement to the next goal, which is to grow even further.
